The Kansas City Police Department is investigating social media posts made by one of its employees.

Officer Donald Ebert posted comments on multiple police shooting stories.

On a post about the recent police shooting in Tulsa, which left one man dead, Ebert commented, "Should have dropped the entitlement card and listened the first time. Good shoot."

On a post about former Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson, who shot and killed teenager Michael Brown, Ebert commented, "Best of luck to a true hero."

KCPD confirmed to 41 Action News it is looking into the situation for potential officer misconduct.

The department does have a social media policy, which cautions members that speech on or off-duty in relation to their official duties is not protected under the first amendment, and members should assume their activity will reflect their position and the department.
