Kansas City, Missouri will be one of three pilot locations for Sesame Street in Communities.

The new program provides videos, activities, storybooks, games and other resources, in both English and Spanish, to help children with their early development.

Specific topics include reading and writing, moving your body, exploring emotions, dealing with divorce and helping kids grieve.

The program features the Sesame Street Muppets and is primarily sponsored by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

The program will also have pilot sites in Los Angeles and Guilford County, North Carolina.

According to a press release, Sesame Street in Communities hopes to expand to more than 35 communities and reach 4.5 million children under age 6 in the next five years.
