A late night thunderstorm left hundreds in the dark on Thursday. Lightening is also believed to be the cause of a house fire.

KCPL reported 2,655 customers were without power around 9:45 p.m. Thursday. Nearly all of them are in KCMO.

Weststar Energy reported 2,251 customers were without power in Leavenworth County.

BPU reported 102 customers were without power.

Fire crews believe lightening was the cause of a house fire in Platte County. Firefighters were called to the 6500 block of Claret Street. When crews arrived on the scene, they saw flames coming from the roof. The fire was under control in about 15 minutes, officials said.
