A Truman Medical Center medical care technician has been fired after an alleged incident at the Long Term Care facility at TMC Lakewood.

On Friday, a nurse from the Long Term Care center walked into a resident’s room and saw a medical care technician having inappropriate contact with a resident, according to a news release from TMC.

The nurse followed safety protocols, and the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services hotline and police were called.

On Monday afternoon, TMC announced the medical care technician involved in the alleged incident was fired. He is no longer employed by TMC and will not be permitted on the TMC Lakewood Campus.

TMC said in a news release the investigation with both MO Department of Health and Senior Services and police is ongoing.

“We won’t rest until all investigations are complete, and the resident’s family has the answers it deserves about this incident,” TMC said in a news release.
