UPDATE 4:50 PM 7/5/2017: Kansas City police say the motorcyclist killed on 60th and Swope Parkway Sunday is George Logan, 56, of Kansas City, Missouri.

PREVIOUS STORY:

Kansas City Police are investigating hit and run on Swope Parkway that left one man dead Sunday.

“Two seconds, it just took two seconds and that would have saved someone’s life,” said Destiny Barrett.

Barret saw it all unfold.

“I told my husband to stop the car and I got out and checked his pulse and he did not have a pulse,” said Barrett.

Police say the driver of a white Nissan failed to yield for the man on the motorcycle. The Nissan left the scene but the driver returned on foot, according to a statement from the KCPD.

Sergeant Randol says the driver was a female. But Barrett believes she saw something different.

“Supposedly a woman came back and said she hit the man. But I didn't see a lady driving the car, I saw a man driving,” said Barrett.

Sergeant Randol says this death highlights a big issue in the city. There have been 44 traffic deaths so far this year. At this point last year, there 27. For all of 2016, Kansas City had 68.

“Slow down, no one is in that big of a hurry,” said Randol.

No charges have been filed in the crash.
