At the Stone Pillar Vineyard & Winery, volunteers are busy picking grapes every Saturday this time of year.

This year there are lot more grapes.

"I'd say it's definitely going to be our best one so far," said George Hoff, the owner of the Stone Pillar. "This year we will have almost every tank in the cellar full."

What makes this year’s harvest so good is the size and sweetness of grapes.

"Sugar content is what we really kind of go on," Hoff said.

This crop will help make up for last year, one of Hoff's most challenging.

The difference is the weather. Hoff said the timing of the storms this year have helped the grapes, unlike last year.

"The grapes were able to ripen a little quicker this year, and we are seeing more gallons in the cellar than we had this time last year."

Hoff is happy to see such a bumper crop and is trying to make the most of it.  He knows that Mother Nature might not be this kind next year.
