Two are dead after separate shootings on Benton Boulevard over the weekend.
Shortly after 1:30 a.m. Monday officers on patrol heard several gun shots in the 3600 block of Benton.
A man was found shot and died at the scene. He was later identified as Brian Grimmett, 26, of Kansas City, Missouri.
Another person is dead after a reported shooting near Swope Parkway and Benton Sunday evening.
Arriving officers found a woman dead at the scene around 9:17 p.m. She was later identified as Isabell Addison.
Police said Addison was driving westbound on Swope Parkway when someone in another vehicle began shooting. The suspect vehicle attempted to turn north and crashed into another vehicle.
A person of interest is in custody. There's no word on any other injuries from the incident.
