Kenneth Voboril, 46, of Overland Park was sentenced Monday to 63 months in federal prison for embezzling more than $6 million from Commodity Specialists Company over the course of 10 years.

CSC hired Voboril in 2005 to run a subsidiary, TransMaxx, which brokered trucking deliveries to customers of the agri-products trading company. Over the next several years, Voboril repeatedly defrauded CSC by billing the company for deliveries that never occurred to companies that never existed.

According to a press release from the office of Kansas District attorney Barry Grissom, Voboril cumulatively embezzled over $6 million from CSC and failed to report the additional income on his federal tax returns.

In court, he pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud and one count of filing a false tax return.
