A 19-year-old woman has been charged with DUI, manslaughter and assault after she fatally struck a man while driving on I-435 Saturday morning.

According to authorities, Alannis J. Bremer, 19, was allegedly drunk driving on I-435 near 103rd Street around 3 a.m.

Police say a man was riding in an Uber on I-435 when he told the driver to pullover because he felt sick.

The Uber driver then parked on the right shoulder of the highway. When the male passenger left the vehicle, he was struck by Bremer's car that was driving on the shoulder.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The Uber driver also sustained minor injuries in the crash and has since been released from the hospital.

Bremer told police that she had been drinking and fell asleep at the wheel. Her bond has been set at $100,000.

The investigation is ongoing.
