According to scientists, there are eight planets in our solar system. (Sorry, Pluto.)
But, in reality, this weekend at Bartle Hall in Kansas City, there’s a ninth: Planet Comicon!
Over the span of 18 years, this locally-produced comic book and pop culture convention has become the largest in the region.

Superstars of the Comicon universe will be shining for the next three days: David Dastmalchian from “Ant-Man,” Ron Perlman from “Sons of Anarchy,” Billie Piper of “Doctor Who” plus dozens of other performers from in front of and behind the cameras.

From Star Wars to Star Trek...from Pokemon to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles…from Sharknado to Supernatural…it’s all here in 300 thousand square feet of fun and fantasy.
According to local superhero and promoter, Pat O’Neill, this show reaches every age and provides great opportunities to interact with the creative geniuses, national and local, who bring other worlds to life.
Admission prices vary depending on the number of days you desire, but for children seven and under, it’s free.
Just a word about the dress code: no nudity, no profanity, no abusive content and no bare feet. Think PG-13.
But, other than those common sense guidelines, the sky…well, the universe!...is the limit!
