Several in custody after pawn shop robbery, standoff in Blue Springs

BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. –

At least five people are in custody after a robbery led to a police chase and standoff Sunday evening. 

According to police, suspects robbed Shop ‘N Pawn on 40 Hwy. and took off in a stolen vehicle. 
Police chased them through Blue Springs, where two suspects were arrested. 

Three other suspects ran into a townhome near 40 Hwy. and Sni a Bar Dr. Police believed the suspects could have had weapons, so a SWAT team was called in. 

Blue Springs Deputy Chief Bob Muenz says the standoff didn’t last long.

“While we were putting our technical teams into place, developing plans and getting our resources together they surrendered and came out of the house,” Muenz said. 

No one was injured in the incident. 

Police say they did find gun ammunition in the vehicle the suspects bailed from. The item stolen from Shop ‘N Pawn was also recovered
