The Sisters' Circle of Kansas City is getting recognition for community giving. During the City Council meeting on Thursday at City Hall, Kansas City Mayor Sly James declared the day, Sisters' Circle Day.  Councilwoman Alissa Canady read the proclamation.

Nicole Jacobs-Silvey with Sisters' Circle talked about the group's focus, which is investment, impact and intention.  People make small donations to the Sisters' Circle and the organization makes a larger donation to another nonprofit.  Last month, the music program at Genesis School received the first donation.

The Sisters' Circle of Greater Kansas City was formed in 2016 to provide support to nonprofit organizations that provide programs that improve the quality of life of African-Americans in the Greater Kansas City area. The Sisters' Circle also seeks to increase charitable giving among African-Americans in our community.
