KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Two people were injured in a crash, vehicle fire on 71 Highway early Sunday morning.
Police were called to the southbound lanes of 71 Highway just south of 75th street shortly after 3:00 a.m.
Officers located a four door vehicle off the roadway and down into the ditch on fire.
Two people were transported to an area hospital in unknown condition.
The southbound lanes of the highway were shut down until 6:00 a.m. while crews put out the fire, cleaned up the roadway and investigated the cause of the crash.
