UPDATE: Adam Brandt is now in custody, according to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.

After an all day investigation by the Johnson County Sheriff’s office warrants division and a special FBI group, he was located in northwest Kansas City, Kansas and taken into custody without issue.

The Johnson County Sheriff's Office and the FBI were actively searching Saturday for a potentially dangerous fugitive on Saturday.

Adam S. Brandt has an active felony warrant for his arrest after he committed an aggravated battery.

Brandt is a white male, 6'2", 205 lbs, with blue eyes and and brown hair.

The fugitive is known to frequent Kansas City, Kansas, and several casinos in the area. Police say Brandt has violent tendencies and he is believed to be armed.

Please use caution if you see him. Do not try to approach or apprehend Brandt.

If you have any information about Brandt or his whereabouts, please call the Johnson County Sheriff's Office at 913-782-0720.

Editor's note: A previous version of the story said the fugitive committed an aggravated burglary, this is incorrect. Police corrected their statement to say that the fugitive committed an aggravated battery.
