Prosecutors have charged 19-year-old Shaquil J. Roland with second-degree murder and armed criminal action for the shooting death of his adoptive father at a Burger King in Lee's Summit Friday night.

The victim has been identified as 33-year-old Antonio Dennis of Kansas City. Authorities say Roland and Dennis were both employees at the Burger King located at 1399 Douglas Road.

Court documents show that Roland and Dennis got into an argument and stepped outside into the parking lot around 9 p.m. Roland later returned into the Burger King and laid a handgun on the counter and said he was sorry.

An employee ran outside to give aid to Dennis, the manager of the restaurant, before he was taken to a hospital for gunshot wounds, where he was later pronounced dead.

Roland's bond was set at $200,000.
