Millions of dollars have poured into Missouri political campaigns this election, and according to The Center for Public Integrity, Missouri leads the country in TV ads.

More than 98,000 ad slots have aired in the Show Me State at a cost of $42.6 million so far this election cycle, more than half of which is from the governor’s race alone.

In addition, more than $26 million comes in the form of donations between Democratic Attorney General Chris Koster and Republican gubernatorial challenger Eric Greitens.

Finance disclosures submitted to the Missouri Ethics Commission show Koster raising nearly $10 million since the start of the year with Greitens trailing by $1,000.

Greitens is however outpacing Koster in $5K or greater donations (96 – 66) since September 1.

Greitens 5K or greater donations since September 1 - $4,939,525.00

Koster 5K or greater donations since September 1 - $2,534,060.37

Greitens has amassed six more 6-figure or greater donations than Koster in that timeframe.

Both have a $1 million donation from their perspective governor associations, funded by companies like Walmart and Pfizer.
