The National Football League released the Kansas City Chiefs 2017 schedule Thursday night.

The Chiefs will open the season against the Super Bowl champion New England Patriots. The game in Foxsborough, Mass. on September 7 also serves as the NFL season opener. The game will air on your 41 Action News station.

The defending AFC West champions will get a chance at revenge against the team that knocked them out of the playoffs last season. They host the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 6 on October 15.

Chiefs single-game tickets go on sale Monday, April 24 to Jackson County taxpayers at 9 a.m. and Chiefs Season Ticket Members at 10 a.m. They will go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 26. 

The Chiefs play six primetime games, three at home. They include a Monday night match-up with the Washington Redskins in Week 4 on October 2, a Monday night game against the Denver Broncos in Week 8 on October 30 and a Saturday night game against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 15 on December 16.

The home schedule also includes games against the Philadelphia Eagles (Week 2, September 17) and Miami Dolphins on Christmas Eve (Week 16, December 24).

High-profile games on the road include a Sunday night game in Houston on October 8 against the Texans on your 41 Action News station and a visit to the Oakland Raiders on Thursday, October 19.

Other highlights include visits to the Dallas Cowboys (Week 9, November 5), New York Giants (Week 11, November 19) and New York Jets (Week 13, December 3).

The Chiefs end the season with a road game against the Denver Broncos on New Year’s Eve.
