Today is shaping up to be a very active day with a chance of strong to severe storms, here are four things you need to know about today's severe weather threat.

1. Any storm that forms this afternoon and evening has the potential to be strong to severe especially if the storms can stay isolated.

2. All forms of severe weather are possible with heavy rain, hail, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes. The tornado threat increases across areas to the north of I-70 and to the west of I-35.

3. Morning showers and storms should wrap up by the afternoon and depending on how much clearing we get, we could see strong to severe storms. If it stays cloudy, then the risk for severe weather drops.

4. The main line of storms will move in this evening, best chance for storms will be between 4-7 p.m. west of I-35 and 8-midnight to the east of I-35.
