Barbecue is an important part of the Kansas City culture and since 1985, there has been an organization fostering it's growth.
The Kansas City Barbecue Society started with only 100 members and casual competitions among friends. Now, it has 21,000 members and sanctions more than 500 competitions around the globe each year.
