'Tis the season for giving and early Christmas day hundreds of volunteers at Morning Star Baptist Church did exactly that.

"Oh my God, what don't we have," said Kia Turnner as she unpacked boxes full of clothes. "We have coats for children, coats for women, hats for everybody, gloves for everybody. Business jackets for men and men sweaters."

This Christmas marked the tenth year volunteers from the church delivered food and clothing to neighborhoods throughout Kansas City. They started across a bus terminal near 13th and Troost Avenue then visited an apartment complex near the old downtown airport.

"I think it's great they are going around. I don't have bus fare to get around anywhere so them showing up here where I am at, is a blessing," said Gennell Yates, who recieved gloves, scarves, socks and food. "It's a pretty good Christmas. My hopes are up."
