The Children's Fountain in Kansas City honors the city's young people.
The fountain is at Waterworks Park at the intersection of North Oak Trafficway, Burlington St. and Northeast 32nd St.
The six statues that make up the fountain were modeled off of children from the sculptor's neighborhood. Each of the figures represents a different child at play.
$1.7 million was raised in private and public donations to construct the fountain in 1995.
