Want to go to the beach or visit with Alexander and his wind-up mouse? Or maybe you want to meet the Luckiest Kid on the Planet.

You can do all of that in one wonderful place: the library!

To be specific, the Central Resource Library in Johnson County at the BIG Fall Kids Book Sale!

It is BIG!

Over eight pallets of books have been delivered to and displayed in one room for the next four days, Wednesday through Saturday.

Sure they have DVDs and jigsaw puzzles, but the real emphasis is on books!

Everything from board books for the tiniest to Anime-driven comic books for the older readers and everything in between.

Community Relations Coordinator Christopher Leitch said this is a great way to put a real book in the hands of the youngest readers while helping the Friends of the Library raise around $10,000 to keep programs going year round.

You can’t argue with the price: from a quarter to a couple of bucks for just about anything on the tables.

Pretty low price tag for putting the whole wide world in the hands of a child.
