Getting rid of bedbugs is not only difficult, it's very expensive. The heat treatment runs about $1,000 per treatment.
One other effective treatment is to spread silica dust, which is not harmful to pets or people. The dust dries out the bedbugs' bodies. But they have to come in contact with it, so the dust can sometimes take weeks to be effective.
And that treatment runs into the hundreds of dollars.
