KANSAS CITY, Mo. — It is almost time for the Northern Lights!

In this case, we’re not referring to the aurora borealis.

We’re talking about the arrival of the holiday season at Zona Rosa in the Northland.

It all starts on Saturday, November 18, and it’s all about tradition.

This time of year, Santa magically shows up just about everywhere.

But, for a true KC tradition - The Fairy Princess - you have to head north.

The Fairy Princess once listened to the wishes of children at Kline’s Department Store downtown. Then, she moved to the Kansas City Museum.

Now, she takes her throne at Zona Rosa for the next couple of festive weeks.

How about the igloo! This, too, was originally at the KC Museum. Today, you can live “cool” in the not-so-far north.

Another tradition that is alive and well at Zona Rosa is the tradition of giving.

The Salvation Army Angel Tree is there, decorated with great ways for you to brighten a child’s holiday.

You can also support the men and women in blue at the KCPD Care Team Holiday Mart.
