As families stress over traveling with their small children this holiday season, a new study reveals many travelers will be sympathetic to parents.

Flying with children is tough, but a survey by TravelZoo finds close to 65 percent of travelers will be sympathetic to parents with crying babies, and will offer help and a smile.

On the flip side, when it comes to slightly older flying companions, the data shows 65 percent of those same respondents do get upset when there's a disruptive child on the flight.

When asked to choose which is worse, a delayed flight or a crying baby in an adjoining seat, 79 percent said a delayed flight is worse.
