Reuters reports that Matthius Meuller, the new chief executive, said that the automaker will ask customers over the next few days to have diesel vehicles that contained illegal software refitted.

Volkswagen admits that it cheated for years on the Environmental Protection Agency's air pollution test.

Volkswagen has also created a site where customers and owners can find out more information about affected vehicles. Visit the site at http://vwdieselinfo.com/.
