12 COVID-19 deaths associated with KCK rehabilitation facility

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A dozen people associated with a Kansas City, Kansas, rehabilitation center who tested positive for COVID-19 have died, according to the Unified Government Health Department.

The department also reported on Twitter Sunday that 90 residents at Riverbend Post Acute Rehabilitation tested positive for the novel coronavirus, 20 staff also tested positive and five residents have been hospitalized.

On Friday, the facility had 84 COVID-19 positive patients and eight staff members who had contracted the virus.

As of Sunday afternoon, Wyandotte County reported 24 deaths and more than 300 COVID-19 cases.
