KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Groups across Kansas City are working to find solutions to the crime problem in our area.

The Ad Hoc Group Against Crime has been working to find solutions throughout Kansas City for years.

The group plans on hosting a webinar Friday, focusing on how violence is impacting young people during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The event is advertised as a discussion, not just on how violence impacts youth, but also to provide resources and come up with ways to help reduce violence.

"There's college students that have to leave their university and go back to cities where violence is prevalent. There's students that have to stay in a home where domestic violence may be prevalent. They're not able to go to school where that may be their safe place or where they can meet consistently" said India Woods with Ad Hoc Group Against Violence.

Woods added that there are social and economical issues that play a factor in violent incidents involving young people.

The webinar Friday at 11 a.m. aims to address all of these issues and more.
