KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Blue Springs library will be closed until further notice after a potential COVID-19 exposure.

The Mid-Continent Public Library’s Blue Springs South branch, 2220 S. Missouri 7, closed on Wednesday after a staff member tested positive Tuesday for the virus.

The library is working to notify customers who were at the branch between Nov. 10-12.

All library staff who may have been exposed will be screened and monitored before returning to work. During the closure, the branch will undergo professional deep cleaning, according to the library system.

The book drop will remain open and hold times on materials will be extended.

The library is working with the Jackson County Health Department on next steps. A reopening date has not been set.
