KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Families in the Blue Springs School District must decide by Nov. 1 if they would like their children to do in-person or remote learning for the second semester.
The district sent a letter to families on Friday, informing them of the deadline.
According to the email, in-person learning will continue Monday through Friday with masks and hand hygiene required and social distancing whenever possible. The students also will need to follow the Jackson County Health Department's COVID-19 guidelines, which include keeping a child home when they have possible symptoms of COVID-19 and quarantining if they have been exposed.
Distance learners will be provided with a school-issued device and need to be available during a typical school day for live lessons and meetings.
Unlike the first semester, the district says students will not be allowed to switch between the two options during the second semester.
The deadline to decide is Sunday, Nov. 1 at 5 p.m.
