KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Blue Valley Schools students could be affected by staffing shortages at an Overland Park bus services company.
Parents were notified Wednesday that Durham School Services’ bus route schedules might be altered by the “shortage of drivers available due to typical absences and quarantines" due to possible COVID-19 exposure.
As a result, substitute drivers might not be as efficient as regular drivers, and Durham might double some routes, which could cause late pick ups, arrivals or returns, according to the letter sent to district families.
Durham expects the shortage to be a “short-term issue,” the letter stated, because routes will be reduced after Thanksgiving break.
