KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Hallmark’s president and CEO is taking a 20% pay cut to help mitigate the effect that the coronavirus pandemic is having on the business.

In a statement, Kansas City-based Hallmark said that Mike Perry, president and CEO, will have reduced pay until the business “has stabilized.”

The greeting card company also is working toward temporarily reducing hours for employees at Hallmark Global and Crown Center, as well as its corporate support team, “while still honoring our goal to keep our employees paid and on their Hallmark benefits for as long as we can,” the statement read.

Corporate officers in the company and its “corporate support organizations” also will have reduced pay throughout this time.

Hallmark Gold Crown stores are closed, along with plants and operational facilities.
