KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Kansas City, Missouri, U-Haul location will have to temporarily close after violating Mayor Quinton Lucas' state-of-emergency order, according to the Kansas City Health Department.

The department said Tuesday the U-Haul location at 11827 Blue Ridge Blvd. received multiple complaints that customers and employees refused to wear masks at the location.

Lucas' order states, “all employees or visitors to any indoor public accommodation must properly wear a face covering or mask.”

The department said the U-Haul location will be closed until “further written notice.”

Under the order, the U-Haul location cannot appeal the decision by the department.

Lucas' order has been in effect since March 12, and last week he extended it until January of 2021.
