KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Spring is usually one of the busiest sports times of the year, but efforts to prevent the spread of coronavirus have left area stadiums empty.

On Friday, the Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals, Sporting KC and the Kansas City Sports Commission released a joint statement of support.

“These are unprecedented and challenging times, but rest assured, we will be back,” the joint statement read.

The teams encouraged fans to take care of each other, to be safe and to be considerate.
