KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City, Missouri, Municipal Court will transition to virtual hearings after two positive COVID-19 tests.

All scheduled in-person trials are being postponed, and public access to the building, 511 E. 11th St., will be restricted, according to the Municipal Court. No one from the public will be allowed past security.

The court was notified about the two positive tests on Tuesday. Under the Missouri Supreme Court’s reopening guidance for courthouses, the Municipal Court returned to the lowest phase of reopening, or "Phase Zero."

Though the courthouse has largely conducted hearings virtually since mid-April, it had recently moved to a limited number of in-person hearings.
