KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The number of COVID-19 cases in Leavenworth County grew to four cases Friday.

The Leavenworth County Health Department reports that a man in his 20s and a woman in her 40s were the county’s third and fourth positive tests.

The man had recently traveled, while the woman had no recent travel history. Neither are related to the county’s previous two cases.

“Leavenworth County citizen’s need to be listening and taking all precautions very seriously and now is the time to implement these precautions if you are not doing so already,” Leavenworth County Health Officer Jamie Miller said Friday in a release. “We now have 2 cases that appear to have been contracted from community transmission.”
