KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Fifth-grade students in the Liberty School District adapted an Earth Day lesson to the current distance-learning environment.
Breana Dietrich, a fifth-grade teacher at Warren Hills Elementary School, asked her students to create posters about recycling.
The artwork ranged from hand-drawn pictures to digitally created posters.
John Baccala, communications and community liaison for Kansas City, Missouri, said in a news release that “if things were normal,” a Solid Waste Services recycling truck would have been on-site at the school and a community outreach employee would have spoken to Dietrich’s students in person.
