KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Vehicles formed a blocks-long line Tuesday afternoon more than an hour before a Harvesters food distribution center opened in Kansas City, Kansas.
Police officers stood guard as Harvesters' employees unloaded a tractor trailer filled with food.
A Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department spokesman said they usually have about 80 vehicles at the food distribution events.
The crowd of vehicles on Tuesday topped 100, the spokesman said.
The food distribution events are held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month.
