KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A staff member at the Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center’s downtown location has tested positive for COVID-19.

The staff member tested positive last week, according to a statement from Faisal Khan, Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center CEO, though it is unknown if the person contracted the virus “within the health center during their professional duties or outside in the community.”

Khan said in the statement that the staff member self-reported their symptoms, and the health of patients “was not jeopardized at any point.”

“We take the safety and well-being of our patients and our staff very seriously and have extensive daily screenings in place for patients and staff,” Khan said.

The team uses personal protective equipment, and work areas are decontaminated “multiple times a day,” according to Khan.

Samuel U. Rodgers Health Centers locations still are open.
