KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Volunteers at a local church prepared more than 100 Easter baskets for the community on Sunday.
Members of True Faith Outreach Ministries Church hosted a drive-thru Easter basket pick-up, filling the baskets with toys, candy, ham and cake.
Organizers such as Nella McFadden, first lady of True Faith Outreach Ministries, said these types of events make a difference.
"Right here in the heart of the city where it's high crime, a lot of things going on, just being able to help the community and encourage them to a better way and a better life, even by just serving them,” McFadden said.
The church has operated a food pantry for 25 years.
