KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Wyandotte County residents who meet certain symptom criteria will be eligible to be tested for COVID-19 at a new test site, officials announced Friday.

Eligible residents will be able to schedule a time to drive or walk through the new testing facility outside the Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas City Hall at 619 Ann Ave.

Testing priority will be given to those exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms, such as a fever greater than 100 degrees, shortness of breath and a dry, unproductive cough.

Residents with such symptoms can either dial 311 to schedule a time for testing or visit the Unified Government's reporting tool website.

Testing will be offered from 2 to 5 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, beginning Friday, April 3.

“We encourage people to use the confidential self-reporting tool if they are experiencing symptoms like fever, new onset cough or shortness of breath,” Unified Government Public Health Department deputy medical officer Dr. Erin Corriveau said in a news release. “Once someone reports symptoms online, our Health Department staff will reach out to them to provide guidance on what to do if they’re feeling ill, and with details regarding how to get tested."
