KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City, Missouri, police are investigating a homicide Wednesday afternoon.
It happened around 1:30 p.m. at 8227 Troost Ave.
Police said a woman person was shot to death near the Family Dollar.
They identified the victim as 24-year-old Kashawn Haskell.
KCPD initially reported the suspect vehicle to be a Hyundai SUV.
Police have confirmed that a chase that reached over 100 mph on U.S. 71 a short time later was not related to the homicide.
