A Kansas City, Kan., man was arrested Saturday morning in Sherman County, Kan., following a high speed chase with law enforcement.

Investigators say Kenneth Owen was booked into the Sherman County Bastille on a lengthy list of offenses, including aggravated assault, possession of stimulants and possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

At around 7 a.m. Saturday, Owen's vehicle had been reported for erratic driving on westbound Interstate 70 in Thomas County, Kan.

It continued heading westbound before taking Exit 19 onto Highway 24 in Goodland, Kan. Increasing in speed, the vehicle drove more erratic, leading to the sheriff's office to pull back from the pursuit.

The man eventually lost control of the vehicle, striking a light pole at a local farmstead.

A K-9 unit was used to help locate Owen, who had initially escaped from the vehicle on foot.
