Kansas City police work standoff with possible shooting suspect

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police in Kansas City, Missouri, were in a standoff with a person believed to be a suspect in a shooting on Thursday evening.

According to KCPD public information officer Leslie Foreman, the shooting occurred in the 8100 block of Wayne Avenue.

Police believed the suspect may have been inside a home in the area.

However, after 10 p.m., police cleared the residence and the suspect was not found.

The victim who was shot was transported to an area hospital in critically condition.
