KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Kansas City man has been charged in a deadly shooting from Nov. 1.
Michael T. Lomax, 49, is charged with second-degree murder, unlawful possession of a firearm and armed criminal action.
Authorities said officers found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound on the 3500 block of Lexington Avenue at about 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 1.
The victim died at the scene. He was later identified as Dustin Harris, 34.
According to court records, witnesses told police of a planned drug purchase between the suspect and the victim. A witness also said they saw a man, later identified as Lomax, pull a handgun from his pocket about the same time he heard a loud bang.
Lomax is in custody on a $250,000 bond.
