KCK 16-year-old dies after being shot Sunday from passing vehicle

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — A teenage boy who was shot Sunday evening in Kansas City, Kansas, died from his injuries Monday.

KCK police said officers responding to a reported shooting around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday in the 1400 block of Kansas Avenue found Armando Villa-Rosales, 16, in a vehicle with a gunshot wound.

He was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Another minor in the vehicle with Villa-Rosales was not injured in the shooting.

KCK police believe Villa-Rosales’ vehicle was traveling westbound on Kansas Avenue, when it was fired upon by a vehicle traveling eastbound.

The vehicle from which the suspected shots were fired fled the scene.
