KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police identified the 47-year-old man shot and killed in the early-morning hours Friday on Interstate 49.
According to a Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department spokesman, Stacey Witherspoon was shot inside a vehicle just north of Red Bridge Road on I-49.
“There has been a person or persons of interest identified in this case and detectives are not searching for additional suspects at this time,” KCPD said in a statement.
The deadly shooting happened around 4 a.m. and is being investigated as a homicide.
Roads and highways in the area were closed for nearly five hours during the investigation.
