KCPD suspects 'foul play' in east Kansas City death Friday night

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City, Missouri, police are investigating a suspicious death after finding a man dead Friday night.

A KCPD spokesperson said 34-year old Martez Z. Brock was found dead between two houses near East 37th Street and Agnes Avenue.

Police later said "they were able to locate injuries that are consistent with foul play" when loading up Brock for transport.

The incident is being investigated as a homicide, though KCPD did not announce a cause of death.

There have been a record 167 homicides in KCMO in 2020, including a shooting on Thanksgiving near East 79th Street and Troost Avenue.
