KCPD: SUV sought in connection with Sunday's south Kansas City homicide

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police identified the man killed in a shooting Sunday in the 6800 block of Cambridge Avenue and released a photo of a vehicle of interest in the case.

Kansas City, Missouri, police identified the city’s 171st homicide victim in 2020 as 21-year-old Deron E. Bandy on Monday morning.

He was found shot to death around 5 p.m. in a vehicle at the scene.

KCPD also released a photo of an SUV, which police said appears to be a tan or silver Ford Explorer from the 2010s model year.

Investigators are interested in locating the vehicle and speaking with its occupants.
