A man faces assault charges after injuring two Kansas City police officers Saturday during a fight in a convenience store.

Trevorwayne Bradbury, 42, of Kansas City, battled with a male and female officer inside the Superior Minimart, 5522 St. John Avenue in the city's northeast neighborhood.

Bradbury burst into the store just after 6 p.m. Saturday and went behind the counter.

Court documents state an employee told Bradbury to leave several times and he refused, saying he worked at the store.

A male officer arrived, tried to put handcuffs on Bradbury and the fight began.

The documents say Bradbury punched the officer and gouged the officer's right eye.

The officer suffered a serious injury to his eye, the documents state.

A female officer used a Taser on Bradbury several times but to no effect.

Bradbury also grabbed the female officer's hair.

He managed to get into a storage closet and wouldn't come out.

More officers arrived and relieved the injured officers.

Bradbury came out of the closet and surrendered.

He was taken to the Jackson County Jail. Court documents state he told detectives at the jail he would kill them if they messed with him.
